Named in honor of ACHE's 14th Chair, the Edgar C. Hayhow Award was established in 1960 to recognize outstanding contributions to healthcare management literature. Award winners are selected by ACHE's Article of the Year Awards Committee.
The 2026 winner is:
Hossein Zare, PhD, and Gerard Anderson, PhD, for their article, “Beyond the Bottom Line: Assessing Charity Care, Community Benefits, and Tax Exemptions in Nonprofit Hospitals,” published in the November/December 2024 issue of the Journal of Healthcare Management.
