Biography
Zac Hess supports Xerox, healthcare, all data/reporting tier 3 accounts and oversees sustainability programs across multiple facilities, aligning them with client objectives. Hess serves as acting energy manager, identifying savings opportunities, implementing strategic plans, managing bill payments, securing rebates and driving energy initiatives. He provides leadership updates, facilitates procurement, conducts budget forecasting and focuses on client satisfaction, strategic guidance and continuous improvement in sustainability and energy management.
Hess's commitment to delivering exceptional service extends beyond his core responsibilities by recognizing the importance of a holistic approach to sustainability. He has successfully expanded the scope of an energy and sustainability program by incorporating additional sustainability services such as sustainability planning, green leasing and solar services resulting in significant account revenue growth. Additionally, Hess is a valued participant of the sustainable operational excellence team, providing insights into energy calculation standardization, best practices in greenhouse gas reporting and energy procurement and assisting with the creation of sustainable operations manuals. He actively contributes to the development of case studies and supports business development efforts in the healthcare, tier 3, industrial and technology verticals.
Hess joined JLL in September 2021, following a four-year relationship with Xerox performing various energy and engineering consulting services including on-site energy management, energy audits, refacilitation programs, and various other projects.
Prior, Hess worked for seven years as a mechanical/energy engineer providing energy efficiency and design services for commercial and industrial clients. Hess has hands-on experience performing energy audits on a wide range of mechanical systems, including HVAC components and various other industrial processes. He also has design experience on HVAC systems, industrial processes as well as experience with modeling and developing energy conservation measures. Hess has a reputation for integrity, responsibility, an ambitious attitude and has strong interpersonal communication skills.
Hess graduated from Syracuse University LC Smith College of Engineering and Applied Science in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Additionally, he is a Licensed Professional Engineer, a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerator & Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and prior chair for the ASHRAE Rochester chapter.
