Lattice vs. Ladder: Reimagining Executive Career Advancement

June 6, 2023 Webinar Recording
1 ACHE Qualifying Education credit

For many healthcare executives, industry restructuring—particularly the rapid rise of matrixed megasystems—has upended the traditional vertical path of advancement. Aspiring leaders must navigate the organizational lattice rather than climb the ladder, and notions of loyalty to any one employer or team seem antiquated if one is to gain the diverse skills and experiences required for continued executive career growth. Younger leaders especially are rethinking the means and meaning of career advancement and looking to move laterally and diagonally to broaden their horizons and accomplish their goals. This webinar presents new ways of thinking about career advancement for current and future healthcare executives, encouraging them to think creatively and proactively about their entire career arc rather than just their next role. The session then features a panel discussion with executives who have taken nonlinear or imaginative routes to reach their current destinations. The webinar will be interactive, featuring audience polling and an opportunity for Q&A with panelists.
