Global Impact of Innovation—VA Immersive Successes

1.5 ACHE Qualifying Education credit

The VA Immersive team will provide an interactive, immersive session conveying the strategy for and lessons learned from testing, replicating and scaling immersive technology (e.g., virtual reality) for more than 40 different indications in healthcare across 174 VA facilities in the United States and American territories. Additionally, the team will share the impact across the globe, including in the United Kingdom, Israel, Germany and Ukraine. Finally, the team will summarize the future, evidence-based potential for impact, particularly as it relates to access to care, cost of care and remote/rural/asynchronous care.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define relevant key terms (e.g., immersive technology, augmented reality, mixed reality, virtual reality, spatial computing).
  • Articulate a proven strategy for implementing immersive technology in a healthcare setting.
