1.5 ACHE Qualifying Education credit

Each year, over 200,000 service members leave the military. Seven percent of the total force is in healthcare, which translates to a potential labor pool of 14,000 trained and experienced personnel that brings planning, organization, management and leadership skills. However, they often face challenges in translating their experience into civilian terms. They also need to learn how to navigate the complexities of actually finding a job: deciding whether to follow an opportunity or limit oneself geographically, where and how to apply, leveraging connections, salary negotiations—the list goes on.

Learning Objectives:

  • Write a resume and translate military job experience into civilian terms, build an interview wardrobe and develop a two-minute summary.
  • Gain a better understanding of compensation, including tips on negotiating and benefits to consider.
